Gold Making

So, I notice it seems like a lot of the more upscale hardcore raiders are always carrying a bundle of gold with them. I've never really played with the auction house or my professions (JC and mining) And I can usually only manage to hold on to around 10k the most at a time. How do you raiders make so much?
