Who We Are - Simple Math
Simple Math is an end-game raiding guild currently focusing Ulduar hardmodes. We cleared Ulduar the first week it was out in both 10 and 25 man, and have been working on the hardmodes since. We currently raid four to five nights per week from 7pm to 12am server time (EST). We are the top guild on Andorhal (US-PvP) and we run a tight roster of close players. We are always looking to add to that roster with players that show up to raids prepared, enjoy min-maxing, don’t mind wiping for four hours straight, and can handle internet humor.
What We Expect From You
Gear
All applicants should be at their “ideal” setup pre-Ulduar. We are not interested in gearing up applicants. Anything preventing you from having your best-in-slot set should be noted in your application. Additionally, offspec gear is a significant plus, especially for those playing Death Knights and healers.
Apply Prepared
Don’t bother applying if you haven’t become exalted with Sons of Hodir by now. Also, if your professions aren’t leveled, we’re going to make fun of you (and reject you afterwards). Applications should be filled out and show your knowledge of your class as well as your desire to join Simple Math.
WWS and Meters
All applicants must provide WWS or WoW Meters from a prior raid. We use these meters to see if you are a good match for our guild. This is not optional - anyone can say they do 6K DPS, but we’d rather not rely on just your word.
Personality, Intelligence and Effort
Most people in this guild are fairly friendly, but that doesn’t mean we’re soft. We expect you to learn from your mistakes and to own up to them. If you can’t deal with criticism, a loud & offensive Ventrilo environment, or if you make the same mistakes many times, don’t apply. You will be expected to play your class on the edge of what it is capable of doing. We are some of the best players in the world and are not looking to pick up new dead weight. You should be pushing it to the limit on all progression content for efficiency as well as WWS. If you are not putting 110% into a raid, expect to be sat for someone who is.
Attendance
Players should attend a minimum of three raids per week and post on our forums when they can not make a raid. We can work around most people’s schedules as long as the officers know about it beforehand. We understand that real life issues happen and our happy to accommodate you, but we need the lines of communication open. If you tend to disappear for lengthy periods for no apparent reason, don’t expect a raiding spot when you return.
Hardware/Software
All applicants must have a stable connection to the internet that allows them to use WoW and Ventrilo simultaneously. You must have a microphone that does not feed back and be able to talk on vent. If you frequently disconnect or have an issue with speaking or listening using Ventrilo, do not apply. We do not require any mods other than the most recent version of the Omen threat meter (please update before every raid) and a boss mod of sorts (RBM or Bigwigs preferred).
What You Can Expect From Us
Loot
We distribute items via Officer Loot Council. This means that there are no DKP to track, no rolls (unless we decide to have certain players roll) and no randomness. We assign the loot where we believe it will do the most good for the guild and to reward players for dedication and skill.
Raid Slots
As said before, we do not recruit backups or bench-warmers. Some fights require raid stacking - please be ready to sit or respec depending on the fight. If there is a piece of loot you need, make sure an officer knows and we’ll work you in at some point.
Repairs, Consumables, etc.
Because we are the leading progression guild on our server by a wide margin, we have the ability to offer benefits to our members, such as guild bank repairs, as well as all the raid consumables, enchanting materials, and gems that you will need.
